Meet the Owners

Hi, We’re the Ardito family.

Jim and Maggie have done lots of sailing. Ever since spending 2 years cruising on an Alberg 30 in the 70’s, we’ve been sailing on boats of various sizes around the world. We fell in love with catamarans in the late 70s, and even went to several of the factories searching for the perfect boat. Alas, it wasn’t born yet! There were too many problems with catamarans in those days, and it took them a long time to get all them perfected. We’ve chartered a lot of cats over the years and liked them all, but none was perfect. When we saw the Belize 43 we knew our perfect cruising cat had finally been born.

Here’s our crew – sorry – they don’t come with the charter!

Marina, 22, is born to sail as her name suggests and is great at the wheel and with the sails. She does a lot of weight training, but nevertheless is VERY happy about the electric anchor winch! She is a recent graduate of the University of Florida, with a degree in computer science. She’s also our web site builder.

Alena is 20 and always ready to take on a challenge. Alena’s a great crew member, captain of the dinghy, helmsman and also a terrific navigator and avid fisherman. She has sailed with us all through Belize and the Grenadines as well as on the trip from Florida to the Annapolis. She’s also our graphics artist and assistant web builder.
