Fountaine Pajot, Lagoon, Leopard, and lots more at Annapolis Catamaran Show

New catamarans are pouring in every day to the Sail Away Catamaran brokerage show.  There are already a lot of boats here - Lagoon, Leopard, Island Spirit, Prout, PDQ and others.

This is Sweetest Thing heading out in the dawn for the City Dock show, leaving room for more used catamarans for sale at Pier 7 .

Fountaine Pajot at Annapolis Boat Show

Annapolis Boat show Fountaine Pajot

Some of the catamarans are in pretty rough shape, having been in charter too long, or not refurbished after being in charter,  or just neglected because the owners were too busy and not living aboard to keep up with maintenance, make improvesments and keep them clean and dry inside.  Some have mold inside, which is always worrisome because once it starts it tends to return. We know first-hand what it takes to keep a big boat clean and dry in top shape with all systems functioning smoothly.  But the cleaning crews are working hard to get them all cleaned up for the show.  Fortunately we do not have much to do, Since Sunny Skies in pretty clean and we've kept up with maintenance - she has never had any mold and if you've been following this blog you know how much effort we've put into bringing every part into top condition.  So now we are just doing some last minute touch ups, rinsing off the grit from the highway bridge (a daily chore around here) and doing laundry.

The weather was cold, rainy and nasty for about 4 days with the temps in the 40s!  Way too cold for us Florida types!  But today finally the sunny skies have returned and the temperature is back up in the 60s.  The forecast is for fine weather for the boat show, and we are expecting a good turnout starting on Thursday.

We did need to have some last minute work done - installed a new starting battery and alternator.  Luckily there is a really outstanding electical expert here at Sail Away - his name is Peter Lunde of Lunbar Marine (petelunde@gmail.com)  .

Pete Lunde catamaran expert

Pete specializes in electrical and refrigeration but can do just about anything around a boat.  He is highly recommended. He's in great demand so book him early if you can.
