Deltaville - Norfolk – Dismal Swamp

Submitted by maggie on

There was all kinds of traffic in Norfolk Harbor from the very large

through the very small!

Even though there was a lot more traffic than last time we were through, the massive cranes were still mostly dormant and silent.

We cleared the last bridge at 4:30 and immediately turned right into the Dismal Swamp waterway – very grateful that it is open this time! We did not want to have to do the Virginia Cut again.  We admired some lovely homes along the Dismal Swamp, and were anchored in the setting sun with a rum well before dusk.

Got some beautiful sunset shots of other boats anchored at the lock.  Here you see Red Bird’s mast reflecting in the still water.

And looking back to the East that’s Inti.
